“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.” – Og Mandino
I had a little fun with this one. What originally pulled me into this scene to begin with was the overcast sky. It was a dark and kind of dismal morning here on the coastal area of Maine and I was about to explore the National Park called Acadia. Sure I was a bit disappointed when I woke up and looked out the window, but quickly realized that I needed to embrace the challenge ahead. The color in the scene, to be honest with you, was pulled out in post. Its amazing what’s buried deep in those pixels just waiting to be enhanced in the digital darkroom. Its a great little sandbox to play in 🙂
I spend a lot of time looking for light. Whether its lighting a stage (like I am at the present moment), roaming the world with my camera searching for color and detail to capture, or working on my own personal development, searching and appreciating the magic of light seems to be my focus. WIth all that being said, I like to search for quotes that seem to work with my images from time to time. There is a wealth of brilliant perspectives on life out there that I have recently developed a healthy appetite for. I hope you like!

Great shot and treatment!! Nice details on the rocks in the foreground

btw, plenty of great light quotes in the bible… try
Genesis 1:3-4
"And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness."
Matthew 4:16
"the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
John 8:12
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (Jesus)
