A friendly capital to explore – Austin, Texas

“Men fight for freedom, then they begin to accumulate laws to take it away from themselves.” ~Author Unknown

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.” ~Albert Einstein

I think its pretty well known by now that I am not a bit fan of the “tripod police”. Look, I’m not a rebel here, I just have a VERY hard time excepting misused authority. Its a constant battle, but a little stealth-like game I have kinda started to enjoy however….that is, avoiding these mindless art hating thugs. (Mike, relax man……)

Sorry bout that…..

Anyway, I was quite happy when I found out that this capital openly welcomed photographers. That is, at least when I was there. I heard rumors that there was a shooting there a few days after I was there, so I hope those rules didn’t change. (What the hell gets into some people anyway!) If you find yourself in Austin, this is really an awesome place to explore!

One more quick word too. Thanks a lot for stopping by. I’ve been sharing my images and art for over 2 years online now both here and on flickr, and I’ve had a lot of great feedback via email and comments. Its been a pleasure sharing my images and of course, enjoying the beautiful art that this online community continues to share. I’ve always felt that if you have something to share, it is not only your privilege and right to share it…..but its your responsibility.

As I prepare for my trip up into New England next week, I hope to do just that….continue to share my passion for the art. I plan to post a few tips, tricks, and possibly a few videos along the way, so stay tuned. (Great Mike, you just set yourself up for a working vacation…..nice going!)
