A passionate search for color, light, and purpose – A Pacific Sunset in HDR

My recent journey (if you can call a 3 day site survey for an event coupled with a little down time in search for a few images a journey) found me exploring a bit of the California coast near Santa Barbara. As always, I set my own bar a bit high for what I intended to capture, but I think I have a few keepers and a few HDR brackets to work on over the next few weeks and months. I like to sprinkle them in here from time to time…..like a fine seasoning if you would. (?…whaaaat?)

Anyhow…..

Used the iphone a bit on this trip as well as exploring a few apps that I like. I’ll get a bit deeper into that soon. Lots of new and exciting ways to create art with those little things. Who could have seen that 10 years ago, right?

For now, enjoy this one from I created from the beach just over the hill at the resort called the Bacara that I stayed at. It’s an incredible spa and destination resort on the north end of Santa Barbara, California located right on the rocky Pacific coast.

Too much to see in a short trip, but I hope to capture a bit more soon. Heading back in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned!  🙂
