A walk through Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aries, Argentina

“The fence around a cemetery is foolish, for those inside can’t get out and those outside don’t want to get in.” – Arthur Brisbane

I was wondering that actually. In fact, I think I may have even paid to get in there! It was well worth it though. Rows and rows of architectural art pieces celebrating the lives of a few famous and well to do Argentinians (they must have been by the looks of these creations.)

I must say, I felt a little weird (for about 5 seconds) exploring this rather elaborate cemetery up on the Recoleta hill in Buenos Aires. Not sure why though. I guess it was the sixth sense I had of the impending altercation with the tripod police that was about to happen. Not sure why that happens sometimes. Perhaps it would have been better if I just snapped a few blurry images and posted online to promote the place instead. (I mean, they do want more people to pay the fee and visit right?) I am guessing that it might be in the best interest of some of these “tripod unfriendly” places to want to see their sites presented as beautifully as possible, but I could be wrong.

Hmmm, ….. yeah,……..security guards…..

Seems to me that there are a lot of people with not a lot to do, but that of course is another blog post for another day…..
