“A room is like a stage. If you see it without lighting, it can be the coldest place in the world.” – Paul Lynde
Well now…..that was a nice little break! For a collection of reasons, I guess I have been on a little bit of a hiatus here. The recipe includes one part “busy illuminating events”, one part “had a little challenge with some of my image storage”, one part “have been spending my time on a few other things like eating healthier and training for a couple of runs” and one part “needed a little break away from the process of photography and blogging.”
Good grief, was that not the worst sentence ever!?
Yeah….so what was I saying?
Ooh, the lack of posts….right…
So I hope to share a few things over the coming weeks or so as our busy season with HYLITE starts to wind down here. Lotsa gigs and pics to share, so stay tuned!
As far as the healthy eats and life decisions? Perhaps best left for another blog altogether. Lets keep this one focused here (if thats at all possible!) For a little more about me and my random snippets about life, you can find me HERE on Facebook.
Reguarding the hard drive casualties? Ill share that in an up and coming post along with a description of my new storage and backup strategy (which I am still researching as I type this).
I’ll see you on the other side of the pics!
So, one of the segments of the events industry I find myself in from time to time is the corporate education or “Edutainment” market. While the setup and tear-down of gear as well as the creation of lighting looks and ques keeps me on my toes, there can be loooooong chunks of time spent on headset listening to someone drone on about the product, process, or marketing for their brand. Sure there are plenty of times worth paying attention for a critical lighting que, this exact moment however is not one of those. That being said, I figured now would be a good time to catch up!
Woops…..missed a lighting que! (just kidding Rick)
The shots above (all HDR images from a rather large show that I light a couple of times a year) as well as the gallery below (created with a new gallery widget in ProPhoto from the event I am on right now) are a few examples (large and small) of what can be done with the magic of lighting as. Without it, its just a set. Of course without the set, its just…..well…you get the idea….
Stay tuned for a few up and coming posts about:
- My upgrade to ProPhoto4
- My upgrade to Lightroom4
- My upgrade to Snow Leapard
- My new backup strategy
- My trip to the moon…. (just wanted to see if you were still reading!)
PS…..Just made a quick turn to catch a house lighting Q and spilled a have full cup of tea all over the table right near my lighting console and THIS laptop. Guess I have to pay attention to my show!
C YA!
