“Waste your money and you’re only out of money, but waste your time and you’ve lost a part of your life.” – Michael LeBoeuf
Its not often that I have the time, or better yet MAKE the time, to head out at zero dark thirty to see what kind of sky is going to usher in the new day. As you can see here, I was very happy I made the time on this particular morning!
The Town of Palm Beach recently built this clock tower at the end of one of the most prestigious shopping streets in the country called (as it should be), Worth Avenue. This might not be the best way to shoot it, but the converging lines are kinda cool sometimes. This might be a good one to use a tilt shift on actually, or perhaps shooting a bit wider and using Lightroom 5’s amazing convergence correction tool. I think I’ll try that next time….the next time I am up for sunrise that is. I wouldn’t hold your breath for that one though!
Speaking of time….
I spent a little time (all right, ALOT of time) experimenting with stop motion techniques in an effort to self educate myself in the process. My daughter had a project over the summer for school that needed to be created using stop motion photography and, well, I wanted to help out in any way I could. The video below is a little silly, but I think it came out pretty good for a first time crack at it.
More of these silly shenanigans in the future I am QUITE sure!
