Exploring the colorful docks near the Tower Bridge – London, England

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” – Mark Jenkins

I had but one goal this particular evening while in London…..to be at a cool location that I have never been to as the sun hit the horizon. Sure, I have dozen of clicks from a few of the iconic locations and landmarks, but its places like this….those that I haphazardly stumble upon that make all the miles of waling worth the effort!

As far as the process? It started as the usual HDR sandwich in Photomatix and then refinement in PS5, but I played a bit with a program called Topaz on this one as well. Not much, but just a touch of a soft “painterly” effect in the sky and the water to the left.

I’ll share a few tips soon on a couple of projects I am working on. More on that later!

From time to time, I like to share a little of the music that inspires me as I take the creative journey. For me at least, it helps complete the story. Although the soundtrack takes its own musical journey. the overall tone seems to have an overall dark, yet whimsical feel to it…….just what you would expect from a Tim Burton film. A cool movie to watch as a parent to help see life thru the eyes of a child.

Enjoy!
