“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
As you may know by now, I’m a quote junkie. I find that in my search for the words of the brilliant and creative to open up my image posts, I have become a little bit more understanding of the person I have become and continue to evolve to. This is sometimes great comfort to someone who finds himself yearning (man..I NEVER get to use that word. Maybe that’s a good thing though right?) for the open road so often. Must be that “inner voice” that inspires me to follow MY heart and intuition. I’m sure it’s a little hard for those close to me to really understand my passion for wanderlust and the photographic art pursuit, but it’s in places like this that It’s easy to find yourself, or in this case, lose yourself. The Yosemite valley is indeed a great place to do just that!
I took this on a late morning search around the park scouting for locations that I could catch later during the golden hour. I had to stop here for a while and appreciate the stillness and reflection. Must be a great place to be during the fall or winter!
It was amazing to see the flury of posts last night right after the news of Steve Job’s passing. I was especially moved by this one from a post that Rob left on Facebook. It’s mind boggling when you think of the millions and millions of people just like him that Steve’s innovation affected. Here’s what he posted….

I’ll keep this short and sweet…
Without Steve, Jet Set Life wouldn’t be here. We started our company because we were intrigued by the “new world” of iMovie and video podcasts. We began our journey by sharing our travels as a hobby, now we have a full fledged business. He inspired us to dream bigger and become better. Simply put, Thank You Steve, you have changed our life immeasurably. The following are words to live by…. I mean to TRULY live by. I hope they inspire you as they have inspired us. These are the three quotes that are huge part of our life and Jet Set Life.
“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” ~ Steve Jobs
“You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” ~ Steve Jobs
“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” ~ Steve Jobs

So what more can be said about the man? He was truly one the most brilliant and innovative visionaries the world has ever seen and most likely, will ever see. His creations transformed the very way we consume music, communicate with each other, and share our stories. I can humbly say that almost all of my digital life revolves around Apple, and at this point I couldn’t imagine EVER going back! Thanks for the mark you left in the world Steve Jobs. RIP…
This was viewed over 8 million times on youtube and I believe I posted this on the blog before. Seems like a good time to watch it again….and take a few lessons again…….
