“I’m leaving because the weather is too good. I hate London when it’s not raining.” – Groucho Marx
Of course, the processing I did on this one over accentuates the contrast a little bit…all right, perhaps alot…., but the overall tone works…..I think….
I used a preset I had saved in my photomatix settings that I called “The Gray London Look”. Actually, I can’t remember what I called it, but that sounds like a good one. Incidently, if any of you felllow photomatix freaks are not saving your settings into custom presets, you should think about it. Not just sit back and ponder it mind you, I mean do it. It saves me a ton of time and is always a great place to start. As far as everyone else, if you havent tried to dabble in HDR photography, it really is kind of fun! I recommend, to start with, a program called Photomatix and it can be found at www.HDRsoft.com. They have a free trial that has all the bells and whistles. The only difference is that fact that your image will be watermarked with the application logo. Cool if thats your thing, but lame if its not. Once you are ready to spring for the paid version, if you want, use the program code MDSimages to get 15% off! It’s really one of the best HDR apps out there.
So, I decided to revisit my London folder of images after what I caught the other day. It was pretty cool actually! For a launch of a new phone by Nokia, there was alot of preshow hype online about how the Millbank Tower was going to be lit for a DeadMau5 concert. I’ve been a fan of his ever since catching him live in Ireland this past summer. In addition, being in the live show and event industry biz, I am just a geek anything new and fresh. The plan was to image map or use 4D projection technology synced and designed to work with his music as a launch for this new phone. (Amazing how much money is spent on phones right?) The Mau (live I know him), had announced on his Facebook stream that the show was going to have a live stream as it was happening. Cool! Well, not without its glitches though. Actually, it was REALLY screwed up…..but hey, that’s technology. At least they chopped together a cool video from it. Check it out!

Great work; I picture it as the cover of a Neil Gaiman book, for some reason. Wonderful stuff.
