Heading out into the Chicago Night

“I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.” – Vincent Van Gogh

I’ve given a lot of thought recently about what drives me. Not in a global sense, but specifically within my passion of photography and digital art. Mind you, I still don’t have all of the answers. I can tell you this for sure.

First off, I am not a professional photographer. The thought of being hired to produce any imagery for an end client has never been part of my vision….for any amount of money. I guess the thought of trying to please yet another group of clients and customers has been one of those acute reminders of what it truly DOES mean to me. Its more of a personal journey. An artistic escape, an opportunity to see the world from my unique perspective, and a creative way for me to express myself to the world…..I guess thats the fuel that keeps me going actually.

I created this one during one of those little mind journeys away from the real world. Enjoy 🙂

And on a totally unrelated side note….

“Though I might travel afar, I will meet only what I carry with me, for every man/woman is a mirror. We see only ourselves reflected in those around us. Their attitudes and actions are only a reflection of our own. The whole world and its condition has its counter parts within us all. Turn the gaze inward. Correct yourself and your world will change.’- Kirsten Zambucka

9-11 always makes you stop and think. I mean, who doesn’t remember where they were that day? Of course, the easy road to conflict is always a knee jerk reaction to the problem. This post is not really a political statement of what we did as a country, but more of a personal reflection of what I can do as well as an invitation to you as to what you could do to help you get thru your own personal conflicts as they arise. Hey, they are bound to happen…..but thats life. How you deal with these struggles is of course your choice….

A day like today is another reminder of just how much work we all have to do to make this world a better place. If humanity is even going to survive, its not just the preservation of global tangible resources that must be preserved, its the resolution of conflict and the ability of all of us to be able to find a way to live in harmony together…..regardless of our differences! Tony Robbins did a great job art illustrating this here…..

How the anniversary of 9/11 can be used to change your life
