Light fades on the edge of the ice and a quick tip Tuesday

“Darkness is where we begin and where we end. We don’t usually see light traveling in darkness of space because we only can see its reflection on substance.” – Ala Bashir

Huge tonal range happening here. Several stops of light to capture all of the details and although I captured at least 7 frames of the scene to capture it all later, I only processed one. I could have created an HDR (and might later), but sometimes you don’t need to see everything and of course you know its ice!

Right to the sun….that amazing light….

A different approach for me, but a real testimate (man that spelling looks wrong!) to the depth of a raw file and the power of Lightroom 5’s raw processing engine. A little blue enhancement as well but MAN was it cold!

At the edge of the day

I’m a big fan of Lightroom and of course it’s keyboard shortcuts. As Moose Peterson used to say…get in get out and get back to shooting!

Anything to speed up the process.

I share some of my favorite keyboard shortcuts below in todays Quick Tip Tuesday video.

Mostly navigation shortcuts, but still my favs.

Enjoy and make sure and subscribe for more!
