Looking for the Matterhorn

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

I could sit around at places like this for hours! In fact, I did now that I think of it. Getting into the town of Zermatt in Switzerland does take a few train changes (if thats the way you are traveling), but well worth the hassle. From the carless little village, its an easy (but a bit pricey) cogwheel train ride up a few stations to an amazing view. Take a few layers, a few snacks, and water of course (I forgot the latter myself!) Its quite fun to just stop, slow down, put some music on the ear buds, and just watch the ever changing show in the sky.

Mid Day Matterhorn

I did just that the last time I was there. In fact, I took a few minutes to shoot a quick time-lapse of the scene. I shared it a while ago on my youtube channel here. It has an abrupt ending, but still kinda cool. Check out how the clouds react at the peak of the Matterhorn. Would have never noticed that if I didn’t take the time to just absorb the scene in front of me.

Food for thought…..
