Meet the Artist – Harold Ross

Photography, or any artistic journey for that matter, is usually personal. A solo exploration into what really fulfills your heart as you create and then of course, share with the world. Outside of this personal deep dive into ourselves, we also look for the external influence of our fellow creators for inspiration, direction, and fuel for our work. It’s with that in mind that I look forward to sharing these Sunday evening posts with you all. I hope you find some these artists as inspirational as I do. As a “painter of light” myself, I find this guys work especially fascinating!

Meet the Artist – Harold Ross

So I’m not going to share too much of his work here on the blog as most images are all posted online without embed codes, but here is a quick screen shot right from his main site. If you click on it, it will take you right to his site and gallery ….  (but make sure and come back!)

Amazing isn’t it?!

I have personally dabbled a teeny bit into this kind of art, but it is essentially painting with light from a flashlight. Sounds simple, but try it. Takes a while to master….trust me! My friend (and studio photography mentor) Alex Koloskov did a great interview with him over on his Photogy site here, so make sure and check it out for more of his amazing work and site links!

Looks like I am going to have to dig out the flashlights and get painting again 🙂

So, who inspires you? What keeps your creative journey alive?

Feel free to share in the comments below 🙂

Oh, and here is a quick video from Harold about some of his post processing techniques. Cool stuff!
