Meet the artist – Howard Spector from Ashley Events

“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson

Getting to the point where each department is able to sit back “play” with their toys in this industry of events takes a lot of work. I talk about it now and then here on this blog as its a big part of my life. I guess I should actually update this site here more often with these kind of posts, but its here I am more comfortable with these rambles I guess.

So getting back on point…

The artist that is responsible for keeping all of us creatives on track, focused, and happy as well as dealing with a whole pile of challenges with his client is known as the producer. Sometimes, as is the case of Howard, he is more of an artist.

Meet the Artist – Howard Spector

Like I mentioned in a post a couple of days ago, the team you work with can make all the difference in how you perceive your day when creating in this exciting industry. I’ve known Howard for well over 20 years now and he is without a doubt, one of the best. From the initial design concept creation, to the delicate decision of what creative vendors to bring to the project, to the coordination of the installation and execution dance we call “The Show”, its his art that is the driving force behind these projects.

As my production schedule as well as my decision to follow a few personal projects this summer found me declining to work with him on an annual event I have worked with him on for the past several years, I still find myself “tuning in” to the social streams of the crew to watch the load in happen this week.

Here is a shot from another event that we worked on together (thats him with the microphone in his hand and yours truly at the lighting console on the left.) Also, a quick video from another project.

Best of luck this week my friend!
