“We are always getting ready to live but never living.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I was really looking forward to exploring Las Vegas the last time I was out there as its an ever changing and evolving landscape. Last time I was out there, The City Center complex was just a fence enclosed construction site with a few cranes that were a signal that something big was about to happen. Still amazes me what can be created in a few short years in the desert!
After the conference was over that I was attending, I was pretty excited as I ventured off (half assed I must admit) into the concrete jungle to try to capture the essence of the area. To be honest with ya, I had NO idea where to photograph it from. I really struggled a bit to capture the sheer size, detail, and color as I scrambled to find a good vantage point to photograph. Guess I’ll try to hit up a couple friends I know out there next time and see if I can get a good “behind the scenes” access thing to happen!
(Anyone want to help? I’ll buy dinner!)
Its funny how you can get so caught up in searching for what is around you that you in fact forget to notice what is actually around you! I realized this as I caught the sun as it was falling into the desert horizon. Something told me to just slow down and enjoy it. I captured this frame, a few others, and then did just that….slowed down…..
