Prayers in the dust – Waiting out the storm at Burningman

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.  Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”  ~G.B Shaw

This time last year I was knee deep in a pool of google searching for survival wear for what can only be known as one of the most unique celebrations of life, art, and hope the modern world has ever experienced. I must admit, I am a little relieved I am not scrambling now is it is only a mere 3 weeks away. Ever since I had heard of Burning-man, it had always been on my radar and “bucket list” of sorts. Having been immersed in the world of entertainment and live art environment creation for the better part of the last 30 years, I must admit that after all I have seen and been a part of, I was STILL blown away.

Its been fun seeing all of the prep posts and excitement building up in social media the past few days. Although I am not attending this year, I have been making a few loose plans for next year. If there is one time on the list that you should a lot at least 2 if not a dozen buckets to, this is it!

More images here soon as well as a few links to some other amazing photography and videos from there as the days build up to the event….so check back for more!

As far as the process, I have been messing around with a new plugin from Topaz. Ill do a bore and after on the next image I create with it. I had no idea there was all this detail in the image before I started messing around with it. More to learn, but I like what I see so far!
