“If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. ” – Henry David Thoreau Author, naturalist 1817-1862
Green awareness…..seems to be alot of that going on lately. Perhaps is my own personal awareness, but it seems like green is turning up all over……from greener living to green rehabbing to greener diets to of course, the decline of the American greenback. Probably all great topics for their own blog posts for someday…..(and perhaps a great idea for a new blog altogether), but for now…..just a little relaxing image from Maine.
Taken during a rainy afternoon while I found myself exploring the damp and dark canopy in Acadia National Park. Perfect weather to capture that deep and saturated color we love as landscape photographers!

nice composition … like the Thoreau quote too … so true
Absolutely brilliant composition! This looks like a place I’d like to just sit down an take a little nap. The mossy covered tree roots and rocks really give this shot a lush calming feel> Great eye!
Fantastic forest picture! I’m a huge fan of forest and woodland pictures myself and the bridge adds so much character to it. Another stunning picture!
Beautiful !
Can’t get my eyes off this one. Just fantastic!

I live about an hour away from this spot on Jordan Stream…have photographed it so many times! This is a lovely point of view, and an excellent treatment.
