“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” — Mary Lou Cook
Somewhere along the coast of Maine, we stopped for a little break. The warm afternoon sun bathing the apple orchards seemed like a great time to play a bit with the infrared camera I had dragged along with the kit. I sometimes feel I travel with too much gear, but in this case, I was glad that camera body was with me 🙂
Music is SUCH a part of the direction in which I take my art. I was chatting a bit about that with a painter today down at out local arts and music festival about just that.
More about his work soon!
For now though, its late and I’m going to keep it short.
Tonights Meet the Artist – Coldplay
Mike….Coldplay? Really? Who doesn’t know who Coldplay is?
Well, for one, as one of their biggest fans, I had no idea that they were so close to releasing some new work. I stumbled upon 3 songs recently that are part of a pre release and to be honest with you, I can’t get enough of the new sound! With headphones on, music is such a part of my work and workflow that I sometimes feel that it becomes part of the piece. Might sound silly, but its true.
For example, this song here in fact and its effect were one of the reasons I revisited this infrared piece from the archives.
Kind of a cool use of the whole “Autotune” effect with a sort of Imogen Heap feel to it…..as you can see.
Like I have said before, music is part of the art and creation of so many of our expressive works.
A gift we are given by the artist.
Thank you for that gift 🙂
