“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” – John Lubbock
My diversion away from the playground I normally create in over here at Hylite often takes me away to explore. Even as I unplug though, I am usually chasing some sort of light. After a couple of rain soaked days bumbling about the southern part of the state, my trip through Utah had me doing just.
As you know if you follow my journey here, I am a huge fan of HDR photography and what its unique style of processing can do to an image. Like always, I snapped a few brackets here and there, but to be honest with ya, I like the results I was able to get by processing just one of the exposures. Lightroom has really some a long way in extracting the range of these raw files….or perhaps its a few new tricks I have been implementing. (maybe a bit of both!)
I’ll revisit that soon in another post as well as the results from several ways to create an HDR of a scene. Make sure and stay subscribed or bookmarked for more soon! 🙂
But then, its Sunday, … so its time for another….
Meet the Artist – Pat Metheny
Art is about the creation, the sharing of gifts, and the unique expressive qualities we all have. Our lives are all enriched when these gifts are released into the world to consume.
I’ve been a fan of Pat’s for a few decades now. He is an amazing artist that has redefined himself many times throughout his career, sharing his story with his music. His art is something that can be heard quite frequently in the background as I work on my own art in the quiet evenings here in the digital darkroom. Thank you for your gift Pat 🙂
Here is a quick video about a project he worked on a couple of years ago. Amazing!
