Special Event Lighting (a wedding celebration…..in Pink!)

Pink, pink, pink,…..I want it pink….all pink!

And pink it shall be 🙂

Hey, I probably don’t mention it enough….but thanks for stopping by! As an artist (not to sound pretentious, cause we are all artists by nature I am convinced), it is nice to have your work noticed and appreciated. Whether its from the paintbrush of light that I use to paint the canvas of a ballroom for an event, or the digital darkroom creation I display from an exotic trip from a recent journey, or a clever runon sentence that brings a chuckle to a new reader, its nice to be noticed. Although, it is never the driving force to create, when the work is done, that need kinda creeps onto the scene. I have often stood just off of the main door as the guest arrive into an event that we have lit just to hear the ooohs and aaahhhs. After a long and tireless day helping create this magic, it certainly IS nice to be appreciated. I was having a conversation with my daughter just the other day about this. Its fun to hear here little thoughts about this process. As an artist and dancer herself, she often spends hours alone in the zone of creation, but every once in a while, steps aways and need that “Hey, this is good right? Am I doing ok? Do you like this?” …. Then, its back into the zone……to create once again!

On a side note…..

I have been getting a bit caught up a a million and one things lately and just wanted to mention that I have our site at Hylite up and running with a few images and content. Its still a work in process, but I intend to blog about once a week or so about event lighting, our events, and whatever else pops into this strange mind of mine. Make sure and head over there and bookmark it or grab a feed to the site t be kept abreast of updates. Also, the facebook fanpage is in the works and in its infant stage as well. Here are links to both: HyLite Productions, Inc. and Facebook Fanpage

I’ve got a few cool images in the pipeline for the next few posts, so stay tuned!
