Stopping at the stream at the edge of the San Juan Mountains

“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.” – John Lubbock

I found myself driving thru this amazing part of the country between events in Scottsdale, AZ and Denver, CO wondering when I would make the time to come back and explore it a bit deeper. One day driving through at 65 miles an hour doesn’t really count as a check off the bucket list. From the dunes in the south to the wide open fields in the west to the Mountains in the North and the rocky deserts in the east, Colorado has quite a variety of landscapes to be explored. These forest roads are my favorite though.

The river runs wild

The leaves were barely starting to turn and I could only imagine how beautiful these hills must look like in the peak of the season. Till then, I took a quick stop at a stream and watched the clouds roll by.

Still beautiful 🙂
