Sunset at the Oasis (or at least what I saw!), originally uploaded by Photomike07.
Sometimes, it kinda hits me. I am in essence coloring. Yes, a 45 year old with a coloring book and an endless supply of crayollas, proudly displaying a picture of the day he wants to show off! In this case, the refrigerator I choose to hang the image on is actually a bit larger and complicated. Perhaps, thru creating tagging, tweeting, facebooking, or linking, the fridge has a larger and more exotic audience, but in essence, its all the same. We all, (I am assuming of course) crave attention. Without an audience at all, the artist and creator has a deeper need to please himself, and thus will continue to create his work without this audience, but deep down…way deep down, is still a need to be recognized and appreciated. So, with all that said, here’s what I drew with my crayons today…..hehehe. I hope your day was this colorful!
A special thanks to Trey Ratcliff from Stuck in Customs (google it, you’ll find it) for the wonderful Texas hopsitality. His HDR workshop was all that I hoped it would be. I was proud to be part of the experience! Thanks 🙂
And, as is so often that case, a little taste of the music that I listened to as I was…..ummm……coloring 🙂
Amazing processing and fabulous sky. LOL at your analogy……very true. You did a great job with your crayons:-))
very soft HDr!!! Nice!
Super work. Love it!
You are so right, and a very interesting way of putting it. This shot will be a refrigerator favorite for a very long time. Thanks for the beautiful color, I live in NE Tennessee and right now white is pretty dominant.
Wow…amazing sunset. Love the burst of colours!
Really nice job. You must have had a great weekend. Trey was up here (Chicago) last weekend and joined us for a photo walk. He is a great guy to hang with. I enjoyed and totally agree with your comments.
Fantastic shot, Mike.

Wonderful image, Mike. Love the tree silhouette.
It was a pleasure to meet you at the HDR workshop this weekend.
Like the cloud movement here.
Oh wow Mike – what a beautiful sunset! I love those ‘blues’ – fantastic job!! Glad you had fun!
The Oasis use to be a great bar just outside Austin, TX……and I’m wondering if this shot was taken from that lofty perch….?
Regardless, it is one stellar piece of hdr photo work.
The commentary and then the added touch of music…. Brilliant! Incredible photo and I like what you did with your crayons, LOL. Awesome depth in the picture and very soothing.
Excellent work! Beautiful
Very cool colouring you provided for us. I like the little writeup you did with it. So true I think for all of us.
This is FANTASTIC! I love the colors, the processing and the composition. Your timing and choice of aperture seem to have worked out well. Gorgeous.
Beautiful reflection of the sky colors in the water.
The colours are amazing esp. that tree. Linked from Stuck in Customs blog
