“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.” – John Muir
Bumbling about an area like Yosemite can be a bit intimidating. I had, as usual, a mission of unachievable proportions. To capture the essence of the park from every location I could find, to immerse myself into the woods for a little soul searching of sorts, to wander out on endless hikes, to capture the incredible waterfalls of the region with my new Sighnray ND filter, to relax, to see it all, to exercise, to eat right, to capture every sunset and sunrise,…..you get the picture. Reality of course sets in when you allow it to. Slow down. The parks not going anywhere!
So thats what I did.
I found this location just off the side of the road as I bumbled about in search for a place to catch the end of day color. As I got out of the car, put on my ipod, and grabbed the camera bag, I noticed a few people leaving the same location. Seems like as soon as the sun hit the horizon, they had no interest in hanging out. Lucky for me they left as the real magical color in the sky was just beginning. Its a wonderful window of time, but goes by SO fast sometimes. Not the most epic location, but it sure was a great place to start my little visit magical place!
More to come….
