The Beauty of decay – HDR goodness in the San Juan Islands

“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.” –  “Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’m sure there is a story here…..I just don’t have it though. The last journey of a salty dog fisherman of the Northeast. Perhaps a forgotten vessal washed ashore after a long Washington winter. I like to let my imagination wander as I explore these types of scenes climbing about the area with the camera looking for unique perspectives. Perhaps there is no story, but thats no fun for the mind now is it?

After a few long days on a photography workshop up in the San Juan Islands, I decided to take a little time off to be alone and wander the area while continuing to photograph this cool archipelago as I found this cool little relic. I’ve come to love the beauty of decay in scenes like these…..especially since I started my journey with HDR photography.
