The Venetian in Las Vegas and a new Segment called “Meet the Artist”

” Creativity is the quality that you bring to the activity that you are doing. It is an attitude, an inner approach – how you look at things . . . Whatsoever you do, if you do it joyfully, if you do it  lovingly, if your act of doing is not purely economical, then it is creative.” –  Osho

Who doesn’t love a great quote?! I’ve been starting my posts with them for a while now. Not sure how they are being interpreted thought. My sincere hope is that you find a few of them fulfilling or at the very least, find you digging a little deeper into your own mind and heart to absorb and apply them. I know I have. Taking a little time to search for them each evening after deciding which image to post and what to ramble about is a always a fun journey I enjoy taking.

One great source incedently is from a mentor of mine that I have blogged about before and intend to post about again very soon called John Paul Caponigro. He has a nice little collection of them on his blog over here. Definitely a great site to bookmark!

The Daily Image – The Venetian in Las Vegas

I was looking forward to exploring this area at night again. The lighting, details, and color are some great ingredients for creating and HDR image, but I was hoping to refine the process a bit. I cringe a little when I see in now after a couple years of practice. Perhaps a little too colorful now that I look at it again.

See what I mean here…

For todays perspective, I “cooked” this one with a completely new workflow by creating a 32 bit depth file in CS6, and then processing that in camera raw. I’ll share that soon here on another post or video soon!

The Venetian in Las Vegas

And now for something completely different!

So I’ve been thinking of something else I would like to share from time to time here.

I love surrounding myself with creative people.

That being said, my guess is that most of you who follow me here on the blog, flickr, Facebook, Instagram, and the like are creatives yourself, so I think you might enjoy this.

In my quest for inspiration, education, and connection, I have bookmarked and followed so many amazing artists out there that I thought, why not share on a weekly basis, an artist or creative that has inspired me in some way or that I find amazing.

Meet the Artist – Lindsey Stirling

So with that, I introduce “Meet the Artist” – a short weekly introduction to someone you might find interesting.

Why not?

So to quickly get it started, I am posting a couple of videos below. This weeks artist is an amazing violinist that has mixed drama, music, dance, and electronic music into her art. I first learned about here from a you tuber who was a part of a 30 day challenge I was on a while ago. She made a quick mention of here in an Instagram post while at Vidcon and I immediately became a fan. Funny how all this social media connection stuff happens. I am convinced that the major networks and record labels have NO IDEA what the future hold for them as promotion, connection, and distribution is evolving and becoming totally achievable by the artist themselves.

Getting off on a tangent a bit, so lets reel it back in….

Here is one of my favorite creations from the artist Lindsey Stirling performing ‘Elements” The video below that is a video where she discusses how involved she personally was in not only the music, but the creative design of the production, special effects, and the editing.

An amazing artist I hope you will also enjoy!

And click here for the behind the scenes chat into how she created some of the effects!
