Topaz Impression – My initial impression (pardon the pun!)

“Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.” ~Neil Gaiman

So I’ve been having a little fun lately with the latest creation from the folks at Topaz called Impression. I’m actually amazed at some of the looks you can get with its REALLY fast and intuitive interface. I have previously stubbled around with Painter 12 from Corel (I think it was Corel) with mixed results, but for me personally, this is a game changer.

As I am still playing around, I am sure I will posts a few videos and blogs about it later with my workflow suggestions. For example, the first image below was a mixture of the original HDR and the “painted” image that I blended and masked out and brushed in various levels of the effect back in. Again, I am still playing 🙂

Till then, I thought I would share a few that I kind of like so far. I can see this being a valuable asset to my creative toolbox!

Since the latest release of Photoshop CC 2014 has dropped the little “Oil Paint” filter, this cool little app has come at a perfect time.

Again, its pretty cool and I HIGHLY suggest checking it out here if this kind of creative work is your thing!
