“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quiestest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” — Pat Conroy
Not exactly chatty tonight, but wanted to share one I was working on. I explored this area of Italy for a couple of short days a few years back (actually it was a couple but didn’t want to overuse the word “couple”) ….. so just a couple more things…
First off, I am personally really enjoying my Sunday “Meet the Artist” posts. As my definition of the word Artist is not limited in its scope, this topic is a pretty open book. More amazing people to come!
Secondly, I’ve been watching a few classes online from Fay Sirkus and getting inspired to do a little “Photo Painting.” I thought that my Italy archive might be a good place to search for a base image. This process should be fun I thought. She really makes it look so easy!
So I dove right in after watching one of her tutorials and forgot most of what she said as I grabbed a blender brush and attempted a wet splatter of disastrous amounts of digital paint only to have my laptop almost come to a complete stop as the brush strokes kept reapplying its look…over and over….till….photoshop just kinda crashed. Okey dokey….Looks like some of these new and amazing tools were not designed for THIS laptop!
Well after that mess, I dove back in and worked on the image with a few old tricks I’ve used before.
Photoshop and the digital darkroom…an endless learning experience!
As always, the story will continue…..
